This is a short note to remind you that the Eighth International Conference on Modelling, Monitoring and Management of Water Pollution is to take place from 4 - 6 September 2006 in Bologna, Italy. The meeting is organised by Wessex Institute of Technology, UK; University of Coimbra, Portugal and sponsored by WIT Transactions on Ecology and the Environment.
I am currently preparing the programme for the conference and do hope that you can participate. This successful conference has attracted the interest of many of our colleagues around the world and continues to update the international scientific community through the subsequent distribution of the conference book and the permanent archive of conference papers in the Transactions of the Wessex Institute ( http://library.witpress.com/).
If you wish to present a paper, I will need to receive your abstract now so that we can incorporate the work into the conference programme. Please note that the paper deadline is 2 May 2006, however if you need any additional time please contact me.
At this stage, I only need a short abstract (200 words or so) plus the title of the paper and name(s) of the author(s) with affiliation(s) and full
particulars of the corresponding author. Please could you also let me know which topics the paper will cover (see list below).

O Conselho Superior da Fapesp, em reunião dia 8 de Fevereiro, aprovou aumento nas quotas de bolsas.
Para as Bolsas de Iniciação Científica a expansão nas concessões anuais será de 9%, para o Mestrado 48%, para o Doutorado 33% e para o Pós-doutorado de 61% (veja tabela abaixo).
Foi aprovado também o reajuste de 20% no valor das bolsas de Iniciação Científica, Mestrado e Doutorado, bem como nas bolsas dos programas Jornalismo Científico nos níveis JC-I, JC-II e JC-III e Ensino Público. O reajuste entra em vigor a partir de fevereiro de 2006, para os pagamentos a serem efetuados a partir de março de 2006.
